e are followers of a Way...
- instituted by our Lord Jesus Christ
- recorded in Holy Scripture
- expressed in the Creeds and Councils of the undivided Church
- celebrated in the Sacraments
- preserved by the teaching of bishops in Apostolic Succession
- observed in the forms of the Anglican tradition
We walk this Way to grow in knowledge and love of our Lord, to strengthen the Light and resist the Darkness within and without, and to strive to live each day within the Word and still within the world. We believe that traditional worship is still valuable and relevant to contemporary society.
If you are seeking a church home or just passing through, please feel welcome.
Come unto me, all ye that travail and are heavy laden, and I will refresh you. (Matthew 11:28)
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31)
So God loved the world, that he gave his only-begotten Son, to the end that all that believe in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

Prayer for Christian Unity
-
Please remember to continue to pray for the entire body of the Christian faith during the annual week of Prayer for Christian Unity. As part of the recognition of this week, The Reverend Darnell Coleman will again be our guest preacher for Unity Sunday, 21 January. Darnell is an ordained Baptist minister. This will be the fourth time he has graciously agreed to speak to our congregation.
O God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, our only Saviour, the Prince of Peace; Give us grace seriously to lay to heart the great dangers we are in by our unhappy divisions. Take away all hatred and prejudice, and whatsoever else may hinder us from godly union and concord: that as there is but one Body and one Spirit, and one hope of our calling, one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism, one God and Father of us all, so we may be all of one heart and of one soul, united in one holy bond of truth and peace, of faith and charity, and may with one mind and one mouth glorify thee; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Thank you to all our readers, choristers, and instrumentalists for our annual service of Lessons and Carols, held this past Sunday. And thank you as well to all who attended this wonderful celebration of the season.
As we enter this special season, please especially keep the needy in your thoughts and prayers. At this time, donations of simple gifts (pre-wrapped and labeled for a man or woman) are gathered at the church for distribution to seniors at local care facilities, especially those who might be without family. Also, food ingathering for distribution through Chatsworth FISH is also greatly appreciated.
Almighty God, give us grace that we may cast away the works of darkness, and put upon us the armour of light, now in the time of this mortal life, in which thy Son Jesus Christ came to visit us in great humility; that in the last day, when he shall come again in his glorious majesty to judge both the quick and the dead, we may rise to the life immortal, through him who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, now and ever. Amen.

Our special thanks to those who brought food items for the Food Ingathering on “Thanksgiving Sunday” and to Robert Jones for preparing the special grocery bags for us to fill. The items will be delivered to FISH for the needy in time for Thanksgiving Day.
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. - St. Matthew 25:40.

Stewardship Time
-
The monthly reports which the Vestry receives from the Church Treasurer indicate that throughout the first half of 2006 we have been pretty much on target and we are operating in the black - praise God!
Field archery is a keen sport in which hitting the bullseye requires patience, precision, and practice. Human response on the other hand is a reflex. It may be quick and unconscious, like the blink of an eye, or as deliberate as international diplomacy.

Almighty God, who hast given us this good land for our heritage; We humbly beseech thee that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of thy favour and glad to do thy will. Bless our land with honourable industry, sound learning, and pure manners. Save us from violence, discord, and confusion; from pride and arrogancy, and from every evil way. Defend our liberties, and fashion into one united people the multitudes brought hither out of many kindreds and tongues. Endue with the spirit of wisdom those to whom in thy Name we entrust the authority of government, that there may be justice and peace at home, and that, through obedience to thy law, we may show forth thy praise among the nations of the earth. In the time of prosperity, fill our hearts with thankfulness, and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in thee to fail; all which we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
