We are followers of a Way...

  • instituted by our Lord Jesus Christ
  • recorded in Holy Scripture
  • expressed in the Creeds and Councils of the undivided Church
  • celebrated in the Sacraments
  • preserved by the teaching of bishops in Apostolic Succession
  • observed in the forms of the Anglican tradition

We walk this Way to grow in knowledge and love of our Lord, to strengthen the Light and resist the Darkness within and without, and to strive to live each day within the Word and still within the world. We believe that traditional worship is still valuable and relevant to contemporary society.

If you are seeking a church home or just passing through, please feel welcome.

Come unto me, all ye that travail and are heavy laden, and I will refresh you. (Matthew 11:28)

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31)

So God loved the world, that he gave his only-begotten Son, to the end that all that believe in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

We are in need of an organist to play at our services, typically up to 2 hrs for the Sunday service (hymns from the Hymnal 1940 plus service music). We have a new Rodgers Inspire Classic 227 organ and would love someone looking to build their experience to exercise it. Compensation negotiable. Please see our posting at the LA American Guild of Organists website or reach out to Robert Jones (mcgyvr -at- live.com). Thank you!

21 December 2006 - Lenten Tuesday

The Lenten Tuesday session will be hosted by the Smitleys at their home in Camarillo, beginning at 7 pm with the service of Evening Prayer followed by a meatless pot-luck supper. The discussion topic for the evening will be the fourth Sorrowful Mystery, the Carrying of the Cross.

And as they led him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might bear it after Jesus. And there followed him a great company of people, and of women, which also bewailed and lamented him. But Jesus turning unto them said: “Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children. For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck”. … And there were also two other, malefactors, led with him to be put to death.Luke 23:26-32

Thank you to all our readers, choristers, and instrumentalists for our annual service of Lessons and Carols, held this past Sunday. And thank you as well to all who attended this wonderful celebration of the season.

As we enter this special season, please especially keep the needy in your thoughts and prayers. At this time, donations of simple gifts (pre-wrapped and labeled for a man or woman) are gathered at the church for distribution to seniors at local care facilities, especially those who might be without family. Also, food ingathering for distribution through Chatsworth FISH is also greatly appreciated.

Almighty God, give us grace that we may cast away the works of darkness, and put upon us the armour of light, now in the time of this mortal life, in which thy Son Jesus Christ came to visit us in great humility; that in the last day, when he shall come again in his glorious majesty to judge both the quick and the dead, we may rise to the life immortal, through him who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, now and ever. Amen.

Almighty God, who hast given us this good land for our heritage; We humbly beseech thee that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of thy favour and glad to do thy will. Bless our land with honourable industry, sound learning, and pure manners. Save us from violence, discord, and confusion; from pride and arrogancy, and from every evil way. Defend our liberties, and fashion into one united people the multitudes brought hither out of many kindreds and tongues. Endue with the spirit of wisdom those to whom in thy Name we entrust the authority of government, that there may be justice and peace at home, and that, through obedience to thy law, we may show forth thy praise among the nations of the earth. In the time of prosperity, fill our hearts with thankfulness, and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in thee to fail; all which we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
