e are followers of a Way...
- instituted by our Lord Jesus Christ
- recorded in Holy Scripture
- expressed in the Creeds and Councils of the undivided Church
- celebrated in the Sacraments
- preserved by the teaching of bishops in Apostolic Succession
- observed in the forms of the Anglican tradition
We walk this Way to grow in knowledge and love of our Lord, to strengthen the Light and resist the Darkness within and without, and to strive to live each day within the Word and still within the world. We believe that traditional worship is still valuable and relevant to contemporary society.
If you are seeking a church home or just passing through, please feel welcome.
Come unto me, all ye that travail and are heavy laden, and I will refresh you. (Matthew 11:28)
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31)
So God loved the world, that he gave his only-begotten Son, to the end that all that believe in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
We are in need of an organist to play at our services, typically up to 2 hrs for the Sunday service (hymns from the Hymnal 1940 plus service music). We have a new Rodgers Inspire Classic 227 organ and would love someone looking to build their experience to exercise it. Compensation negotiable. Please see our posting at the LA American Guild of Organists website or reach out to Robert Jones (mcgyvr -at- live.com). Thank you!

Stewardship Time

The monthly reports which the Vestry receives from the Church Treasurer indicate that throughout the first half of 2006 we have been pretty much on target and we are operating in the black – praise God!
Field archery is a keen sport in which hitting the bullseye requires patience, precision, and practice. Human response on the other hand is a reflex. It may be quick and unconscious, like the blink of an eye, or as deliberate as international diplomacy.

Pioneer Days
-
The city of Chatsworth will hold its annual city festival, best known as the Pioneer Days, in Chatsworth Park on Sunday, 8 October. There are numerous booths and displays which exhibit the early days of the pioneer settlers of the North San Fernando Valley. It is our intent to again host a Hospitality Booth to introduce ourselves and the Pioneer Church to the newest residents of the city.
Please sign up for a shift or two to help support this opportunity.

Almighty God, who hast given us this good land for our heritage; We humbly beseech thee that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of thy favour and glad to do thy will. Bless our land with honourable industry, sound learning, and pure manners. Save us from violence, discord, and confusion; from pride and arrogancy, and from every evil way. Defend our liberties, and fashion into one united people the multitudes brought hither out of many kindreds and tongues. Endue with the spirit of wisdom those to whom in thy Name we entrust the authority of government, that there may be justice and peace at home, and that, through obedience to thy law, we may show forth thy praise among the nations of the earth. In the time of prosperity, fill our hearts with thankfulness, and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in thee to fail; all which we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
