We are followers of a Way...

  • instituted by our Lord Jesus Christ
  • recorded in Holy Scripture
  • expressed in the Creeds and Councils of the undivided Church
  • celebrated in the Sacraments
  • preserved by the teaching of bishops in Apostolic Succession
  • observed in the forms of the Anglican tradition

We walk this Way to grow in knowledge and love of our Lord, to strengthen the Light and resist the Darkness within and without, and to strive to live each day within the Word and still within the world. We believe that traditional worship is still valuable and relevant to contemporary society.

If you are seeking a church home or just passing through, please feel welcome.

Come unto me, all ye that travail and are heavy laden, and I will refresh you. (Matthew 11:28)

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31)

So God loved the world, that he gave his only-begotten Son, to the end that all that believe in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

We are in need of an organist to play at our services, typically up to 2 hrs for the Sunday service (hymns from the Hymnal 1940 plus service music). We have a new Rodgers Inspire Classic 227 organ and would love someone looking to build their experience to exercise it. Compensation negotiable. Please see our posting at the LA American Guild of Organists website or reach out to Robert Jones (mcgyvr -at- live.com). Thank you!

6 October 2008 - Weekday Masses

There will be (schedule permitting) a Low Mass celebrated during the week as part of our regular cycle of services. These will be followed by a dutch treat fellowship lunch with the Bishop at an area restaurant. The Mass will be celebrated on any Feast day scheduled for that week or, if no observance is scheduled, for Wednesday. Mass will begin at 10 am. Please consult your bulletin (or our event calendar) to see when the midweek Mass is scheduled.

29 September 2008 - Pontifical Mass and Confirmation

The newly minted Bishop Rasch presided over a Pontifical Mass during which he administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to several candidates: Frank Gregory Mares, Pamela Sue Mares, John Fike, and Michael Olson. Sheila Marie Yasiello was unable to attend the service but had completed all preparation; Bishop Rasch intended to Confirm her later in the week. Evelyn Fike was also Episcopally Received into the Anglican Rite Catholic Church. Congratulations to all!

26 September 2008 - Enthronement and Consecration a Success

This past Saturday, 20 September, in a ceremony at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Riverside, California, the Right Reverend Henry Joseph King succeeded the Right Reverend Arthur David Seeland as Bishop Ordinary of the Diocese of the Pacific and Southwest. The Very Reverend Anthony Frank Rasch was consecrated Bishop Coadjutor of the Diocese. The Most Reverend Thomas J. Kleppinger presided, with the assistance of the Right Reverend Leo Michael (Diocese of the Holy Trinity and Great Plains). Our brethren at St. Ignatius of Antioch coordinated and hosted the celebration and the reception that followed.

Thanks to Bp. Michael, there are several photo archives:

As an aside, the standard forms of address for a Bishop are:

  • “Bishop (last name)” or just “Bishop”
  • in correspondance, “Right Reverend Sir,” or “Dear Bishop (last name),”
  • in Anglican usage, any Bishop (and especially ones Diocesan) can be referred to as “My Lord” or “My Lord Bishop”
19 September 2008 - Bishop Seeland’s Farewell Address

The Right Reverend Arthur David Seeland tendered his resignation to the College of Bishops for health reasons, which was accepted. The Right Reverend Henry Joseph King, Suffragan Bishop of the Diocese of the Pacific and Southwest, was elected to succeed him as Bishop Ordinary of the diocese. The Very Reverend Anthony F. Rasch was elected as Bishop Coadjutor of the diocese. Bishop Seeland’s retirement will be effective upon the enthronement of Bishop King, scheduled for 20 September. Bishop Seeland’s farewell address to the Diocese may be found here. We extend the gratitude of the parish to Bishop Seeland for his years of pastoral care, and our continued prayers for his health.

10 August 2008 - Rosary

A service of the Holy Rosary will be held at 9:30 am in honor of the Feast of the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary, preceding the Parish Patronal Mass.

Almighty God, who hast given us this good land for our heritage; We humbly beseech thee that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of thy favour and glad to do thy will. Bless our land with honourable industry, sound learning, and pure manners. Save us from violence, discord, and confusion; from pride and arrogancy, and from every evil way. Defend our liberties, and fashion into one united people the multitudes brought hither out of many kindreds and tongues. Endue with the spirit of wisdom those to whom in thy Name we entrust the authority of government, that there may be justice and peace at home, and that, through obedience to thy law, we may show forth thy praise among the nations of the earth. In the time of prosperity, fill our hearts with thankfulness, and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in thee to fail; all which we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
